Cyclists celebrate M-Path completion

Riders on the M-Path bridge over Snapper Creek ExpresswayRiders head south on the Snapper Creek expressway bridge on the M-Path yesterday during our ride to celebrate completion of the M-Path Extension. A crew from Community Asphalt had completed finishing touches on the bridge earlier in the day, just in time to enjoy the riders’ cheers and waves. From 150 to 200 cyclists rode together from downtown Miami to Kendall, then enjoyed ice cream and homemade cake at Continental Park. Photo copyright Karin Sanders. Here also is video from Miami Bike Scene, which estimated the crowd at 125. Anyone care to count faces?

Riders herald holiday season

Toy Riders at Government CenterCyclists pause before setting off Saturday on Green Mobility Network’s third annual Toy Ride with gifts for the Marines’ Toys for Tots campaign. Before their stop for a taco lunch they breezed by some of the busy Art Deco Miami scene in Wynwood and Midtown. The day was perfect for riding. Lots of cyclists in the neighborhood showed the growing need for bike parking.
