Upcoming Bike Coconut Grove Events

During March and early April the Grove will be the scene of lots of activities and events hosted by our partners at Bike Coconut Grove. Here’s a quick rundown:

  • Friday, March 4, 7:30-9 a.m. Bike to Work Day. In partnership with Arquitectonica, the event sponsor, Bike Coconut Grove will host a free breakfast for people who bike to or from work in Coconut Grove. The breakfast will be at the Bookstore in the Grove, 3390 Mary St. Your bike helmet is your ticket of admission. Please circulate our flyer for the event, which you can download here.
  • Sunday, March 6, 12-5 p.m. Gifford Lane Art Stroll. Bike Coconut Grove will provide free bike valet parking for this “only in the Grove” afternoon of art, fun, food, and music. Look for our bike corral on the swale near the Kirk Munroe tennis courts where Gifford meets Oak.
  • Wednesday, March 16, 7-9:30 p.m. Exclusive Miami screening of an exciting new documentary film, “Bikes vs. Cars” at the Cinepolis Cinema in Cocowalk. This is a fund-raiser to benefit Bike Coconut Grove sponsored by the Terra Group. “Bikes vs. Cars” tells the story of how five major world cities are struggling to deal with issues of traffic and congestion and how bicycling does or doesn’t fit into the picture. The cities are Los Angeles, Sao Paolo, Bogota, Copenhagen, and Toronto. The $25 tax-deductible ticket price includes refreshments and wine/beer beginning at 7. Film begins at 8. Free bike valet parking in the Cocowalk Garage (Grand Ave. entrance). Limited seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Register and purchase tickets here. Download and circulate the event flyer.
  • Saturday, April 2, 9 12 noon. Bike the Underline–“Spirit of the Grove” extravaganza at the Coconut Grove Metrorail station. Working closely with Glenn Terry and the Mango Repblic, Bike Coconut Grove is organizing games and activities to celebrate the spirit of the Grove. More news and details to come on our website and our Facebook page.

BIKE VALET Coming to Coconut Grove Arts Festival

GMNCGAFGreen Mobility Network is excited to be partnering with Coconut Grove Arts Festival to provide our hugely popular bike valet.  Our bike valet station will be located near the festival’s main entrance on McFarlane Rd.  Patrons are encouraged to avoid parking hassles and fees and instead take their bikes to the festival. If coming by transit, make sure to get off at the Coconut Grove metrorail station and head down 27th avenue (which just got a brand new bike lane!). Coconut Grove is a beautiful City of Miami neighborhood with a bike culture that continues to grow.  We are proud to aiding the festival in providing safe and effective parking solutions.
