A Fine Weekend for Bicycling

Posted on February 21, 2013 by jdh

Miami-area bicyclists are about to have one of those perfect-weather weekends that make our northern cousins jealous. Not only is there no hint of rain, there are fun events in Coral Gables and on Virginia Key worthy of your attention. In the Gables there’s our annual Tweed Ride, a family-friendly social event for cyclists young and old. Across town on Virginia Key, the Grassroots Festival of Music, Art, and Dance has gone out of its way to be bike-friendly: If you arrive by bike on Sunday you’ll enjoy half-price admission. On both Saturday and Sunday, you’ll find the Green Mobility bike valet to look after your wheels while you enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes at the festival. Valet hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Want to volunteer to help? Drop a note here.
