Meet Florida’s newest statewide bike advocate

Posted on June 30, 2011 by admin

Tim Bustos

Green Mobility Network invites you to meet Tim Bustos, new executive director of the Florida Bicycle Association, when he visits Miami on July 15.

This is a fine opportunity to hear and talk about what’s right and wrong in Florida bicycling — and what you can do about it.  Come hear Tim at the Grove Spot, 3324 Virginia St., Coconut Grove, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on that Friday. Olav has reserved his back room for cyclists, and his team will be serving happy hour specials.

There’s a poster attached below. Please print it out and put it up where it will do some good.

Tim is one of the original FBA board members. He returned home to Florida in February after 16 years out West that included a long stint as bike-pedestrian coordinator in Davis, Calif., a city rated at the platinum level for accommodating bicyclists. He came to bicycle advocacy through a job with the old Florida Department of Environmental Regulation, dealing with air quality.
