Eric Tullberg, a founding member of Green Mobility Network, was honored by Chamber South and the Village of Palmetto Bay for his years of volunteer service. Eric, an engineer, chaired the Palmetto Bay committee that produced a bicycle-pedestrian master plan in 2009 and is an active participant in the Biscayne-Everglades Greenway Advisory Committee.
He’s a recognized expert on the paths and sidewalks of south Miami-Dade County, having traveled, photographed and logged practically every one of them. County planners and highway engineers are frequent recipients of his carefully-researched analyses of plans in progress. There are walks, paths, bridges, and streets in practically every part of the county that are safer and more usable because of questions Eric asked as a member of the county’s Bicycle-Pedestrian Advisory Committee. He’s vice-chairman of that committee now, as well as secretary of Green Mobility Network. In this photo by Melissa Jacobs, Eric is seen with one of the bicycle racks he designed and built in his garage. We use them frequently to provide bike valet at local festivals or, here, during yesterday’s Whole Foods 5% Day at the market in Coral Gables.
