Bill Baggs park gets bike-friendly

Posted on October 20, 2009 by admin

There’s a new "honor box" at Bill Baggs State Park, following Green Mobility Network’s call about how awkward it was for cyclists to dodge motor traffic to pay entrance fees. Here’s park manager Robert Yero’s follow-up note:

I am happy to report that we have completed the honor entrance for all bicyclists and pedestrians and have eliminated the danger of having to cross the traffic lanes to pay the entrance fee. Unfortunately, not all of the signage and beautification plans have been completed but the pictures will show the improved entrance. Also, we were able to re-paint the bike lane to match the existing bike lane that comes into the park from the Village of Key Biscayne. We have a great relationship with many of our local bicyclists and pack riders and hope this will improve their experience.
