Public meetings are being held to inform residents about Florida Power & Light Co.’s plans to increase energy output at Turkey Point and install four new high-voltage transmission lines in Miami-Dade County. One of these lines would run from Palmetto Bay to downtown Miami, following the South Dade Trail and the M-Path.
The South Florida Regional Planning Council will hold one of the meetings Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the BankUnited Center’s Hurricane 100 Room on the University of Miami campus. Representatives from FPL and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, which is reviewing the application, will attend. Attendees will be given an overview of the project and the review process. The public will also have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comment.
